Great Falls, VA, USA; December 1, 2022: 247Solar Inc., developer of breakthrough clean electricity and heat solutions for round-the-clock zero-carbon electricity and industrial-grade heat, today announced that it has been granted a second patent in Australia for its innovative next-generation concentrated solar power (CSP) and long duration energy storage (LDES) technologies.
The patent covers 247Solar’s proprietary atmospheric-pressure solar receiver, multi-unit thermal storage, flow-control devices and other related components behind the company’s 247Solar Plants™ and HeatStorE™ long-duration thermal battery. The patented technologies create a pathway for expanding these modular systems, with capacities of 400kW and 200kW/1.8MWh respectively, to larger power sizes with dramatically enhanced economics.
The Australian patent, issued on 13 October, joins more than 30 other patents that broadly & completely protect the entire field of “low-pressure-air solar power towers” in all major global markets.
“Australia, with ample sunlight, world-class industries seeking to decarbonize, and many off-grid mines currently generating power by burning fossil fuels, is an ideal market for our technologies.” says 247Solar CEO Bruce Anderson. “This patent ensures that our unique clean power and heat solutions will continue to be protected even as they evolve.”
