247SOLAR DEEPENS ENGINEERING TEAM
247Solar today announced the appointment of Madelaine Hernandez-Mora to the company’s elite engineering team. In her role as Senior Project Engineer, Hernandez-Mora will oversee testing and documenting the performance of 247Solar’s unique Heat2Power™ turbines in preparation for their deployment in the company’s first commercial system in India next year.
The project, representing 247Solar’s first commercial sale, is being constructed in Rajasthan state for India’s largest utility. The hybrid system will combine 247Solar’s breakthrough modular hot-air CSP system with conventional PV to provide the utility with round-the-clock electricity and heat at the lowest possible cost. Hernandez-Mora will serve as the principal project engineer once construction of the full system begins next year.
Prior to joining 247Solar, Madelaine Hernandez-Mora spent nine years at the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center in Maryland, where she developed and implemented short- and long-term technical projects to maintain, improve, modernize, and replace naval power and energy devices and technologies. There, she Managed $1M+ programs with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, collaborating with different government and commercial entities to develop the safety and performance characterization of battery systems, as well as emerging fossil-fueled generators, energy charging solutions, and hybrid power systems.
“We are delighted to welcome an engineer of Madelaine’s caliber to 247Solar’s growing team,” said CEO Bruce Anderson.
A subject matter expert in energy storage and hydrogen technologies, Madelaine said, “I’m passionate about clean and sustainable energy and I believe that solar power generation and storage are key to a smart energy transition. I’m excited to join 247Solar because that’s providing me the opportunity to expand my expertise in renewable energy sourcing and its storage.”
Madelaine holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Puerto Rico, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad del Atlántico, Barranquilla – Colombia.
