247SOLAR ADDS TO GLOBAL SALES TEAM
247Solar is continuing the expansion of its global sales team with the announcement of two exceptional new hires.
Joining as Strategic Business Development lead is Jon Guice. A seasoned renewable energy industry leader, Jon brings over twenty years of experience across the value chain of utility-scale and mid-scale renewable energy projects. He was recently the Vice President of Community, Commercial and Industrial Project Development at Qcells North America, the largest supplier of solar panels in those segments in the United States.
Based near San Francisco, Dr. Guice expects to develop 247Solar solar heat and power (SH&P) projects with commercial and industrial customers throughout the Americas, such as data centers and manufacturing facilities. He holds a PhD in Science Studies from the University of California, San Diego, where his focus was on technology management.
Upon joining 247Solar, Jon said, “Our industry is evolving rapidly, and I’m excited to join 247Solar’s talented team in shaping its future. We’ll focus on innovation, customer value, and sustainable growth to cement our position as industry leaders.”
The company also announced the addition of Mark Makanda as Business Development Director for Africa. Based in Zimbabwe and South Africa, Mark is an energy, power and mining sector expert who brings over twenty-five years’ experience in project and infrastructure finance, transaction advisory services, and regulatory and tax compliance.
With country experience in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Senegal, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, Mark will pursue opportunities for 247Solar technologies in commercial and industrial applications across the continent. Mark, an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, holds an MBA – Finance, from the Cranfield School of Business, UK, a B.Sc. – Economics and Business, from the University of Wales, UK, and an LL.B (law) degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
