HeatStorE™ Provides Clean Power and Heat On Demand 24/7
The HeatStorE™ all-night battery stores power as heat instead of electricity. It operates almost exactly like electric batteries but it is the only battery able to operate at full power every hour of the year, even when fully discharged.
HeatStorE™ batteries are the perfect choice for long-duration grid support. HeatStorE™ converts excess power produced by PV, wind, or the grid to ultra-high-temperature heat (up to 1000℃/1850℉) and stores it for up to 9 hours or more. When power is needed again, the stored heat is used to drive 247Solar’s proprietary Heat2Power™ turbine, which converts the heat to electricity without combustion or emissions. Even when fully discharged, the turbine can burn most liquid and gaseous fuels, including hydrogen, for 24/7 dispatchability.
The 247Solar Thermal Storage System, which stores the sun’s energy as heat in simple sand or ceramic pellets, powers the turbine when the sun is not shining. The Heat2Power™ turbine can also burn conventional fuels or biofuels for backup.
247Solar’s unique turbine uses atmospheric-pressure hot air instead of fuel to produce up to 200 kWe on demand. The turbine features a proprietary ultra-high-temperature heat exchanger, which transfers heat from the Thermal Storage to compressed air inside the turbine’s compressor.
